Under the mammoth arches of the Queensboro Bridge is Guastavino’s, the former restaurant that underwent renovation during the summer of 2005 and recently opened as a private event space under the management of the Rose Group. The landmark venue—which has kept its vaulted tiled ceilings, granite walls, and outdoor garden (which can be tented)—has a total of 12,000 square feet of usable space on two levels, and is able to hold 1,500 for receptions. The upstairs level seats 500 theater-style and the downstairs level seats 600 comfortably. Guastavino’s now has a new sound and lighting system (BML is the exclusive vendor), and offers in-house catering services from its two on-site kitchens. —Anna Sekula
