Fashioned after turn-of-the-century hotels, Room Service is a new restaurant and nightclub in the Flatiron district. The 4,500-square-foot venue opened last week with such elaborate accents as hardwood floors, a chocolate-stained mahogany bar, ornate chandeliers, and silk-screened ceiling tiles. Nine semiprivate rooms, each with its own minibar, bartender, coat check, and masseuse, are separated from the main space by sheer drapes. On the menu is contemporary American cuisine, and in addition to the hotel room-theme areas are a central dance floor and a V.I.P. space overlooking the entire club.
