After an extensive renovation, the 6,000-square-foot nightclub formerly known as Show officially opened last weekend as Arena. With a much simpler design and advanced audiovisual technology replacing the ornate pink and gold decor scheme, the space now holds more people (600 versus 500) and is better suited to events that need more blank space for decor or marketing images. In contrast to the modern lines and slate-gray color palette, the centerpiece of the venue—two crystal chandeliers and a demiglobe surrounded by 1923 molding—is highlighted by a programmable LED lighting system. Arena also comes equipped with two 20- by 10-foot projection screens that sit behind the two bars and a third that drops in front of the stage and DJ booth. —Anna Sekula
