Beard Foundation to Host Nationwide Food Events

In an effort to extend the Beard brand beyond the James Beard Foundation's big award show, event producer David Bowen of Bowen & Company is working with the foundation to produce Taste America, a weekend of simultaneous food events in 20 cities on September 28 and 29. The events, held in Williams-Sonoma stores, will feature tastings as well as cookbook signings and cooking demonstrations by regional award-winning chefs. There will also be exclusive dinners in restaurants featuring award-winning chefs, with proceeds benefiting local food charities.
