Reed Business Information has pulled the plug on the Quill awards, a round of huzzahs for the book-publishing industry, according to Publishers Weekly. The first ceremony took place in October 2005; NBC televised the black-tie event. Parent company Reed Elsevier put its business information division—which owns Publishers Weekly, Variety, and dozens of other trade publications—up for sale last week.
