Chicago-based Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., which operates trade show facilities and produces more than 300 expos and conferences a year, announced that it will debut the Artist Project New York show at next year's iteration of the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. The new art fair, which is similar to the three-year-old Artist Project Toronto, will host a selection of contemporary fine art from emerging and established talent at Pier 92 on March 17 through 20.
"The Artist Project New York provides unprecedented opportunities to both exhibiting artists and attendees," said Jennifer Woolford, senior vice president of Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. in a statement. "The artists have the opportunity to present and sell their work in a gallery setting to a large audience of art enthusiasts and collectors. The attendees, in turn, will experience original art in person, meet the artists and hear their personal perspectives and, of course, acquire works of art."
