June 14, 2013: Best Food Trucks in America, N.F.L.'s New Restrictive Purse Policy, Art Basel Brings in the Buyers

1. BEST FOOD TRUCKS IN AMERICA: The Daily Meal has named the 101 best food trucks in the country, considering not only food but also the Facebook and Twitter followings. Los Angeles is the city with the most winners, at 16, followed by San Francisco at 11 and New York at 10. The overall winner? New York's Red Hook Lobster Truck. http://bit.ly/17G4GAP

2. N.F.L.'S NEW ENTRY POLICY BANS PURSES, BAGS: A new policy forbids fans from bringing in bags and purses to N.F.L. games this season. The un-fan-friendly policy bans backpacks, fanny bags, seat cushions, and purses larger than a clutch. One exception: Fans may bring one clear plastic bag, which N.F.L. teams will be selling with team logos. CBS Sports: "This will make the job of checking items much more efficient and effective," said N.F.L. vice president and chief security officer Jeffrey Miller. "We will be able to deliver a better and quicker experience at the gates and also provide a safer environment. We appreciate our fans' cooperation." http://cbsprt.co/13FbNoV

3. ART BASEL BRINGS IN THE BUYERS: Art Basel—the original, in Switzerland—is under way with its typical who's who in the contemporary art world. New York Times: "As large and lively as ever, with 304 galleries exhibiting from 39 countries, Art Basel is still a magnet for big-money collectors and museum directors. Among those at the invitation-only opening on Tuesday were New York financiers like Donald B. Marron and Leon Black, the Miami collectors Donald and Mera Rubell, and the Russian oligarch Roman A. Abramovich. Also seen perusing booths was Richard Armstrong, who runs the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation; Alain Seban, president of the Pompidou Center in Paris; and Nicholas Serota, director of the Tate in London." http://nyti.ms/11Aow8n
