Actor Danny Glover, Cendant president and CEO Henry Silverman and activist/comedian/entrepreneur Dick Gregory were all honored by the Jackie Robinson Foundation at its annual awards dinner and benefit at the Waldorf=Astoria. The foundation, which provides scholarships for economically disadvantaged minority students, also honored some of its scholarship recipients at the event.
The tables were decorated simply with votive candles and vases of purple and white tulips by Floralia. Swinging dinner and dance music was provided by Ron Anderson and the Versatiles, and Bill Cosby served as the event's M.C. for the nineteenth consecutive year.

The Waldorf=Astoria's Grand Ballroom was illuminated with soft candlelight and decorated with simple flower arrangements by Floralia.
