For the opening party for the new Lancel store on Madison Avenue, Tansey Design Associates created a French cabaret within a large tent on 80th Street. Tansey completely covered the inside of a tent with red fabric, and filled the space with red carpet and red furniture. The party--perfectly suited in timing and theme to the new Moulin Rouge film--was designed to help the French luxury goods company update and expand its image in the United States.

Bill Tansey created a red-soaked French cabaret in a tent on 80th Street near the Lancel store on Madison Avenue.

The furniture included red couches and coffee tables.

The entire tent--beams included--was covered in red fabric.

A tented walkway led from the store on Madison Avenue, along the sidewalk to the larger tent that housed the party.
