Anyone who hosts an event for the Council of Protocol Executives (COPE), a group of experienced corporate meeting and event planners, always tries to showcase the best of their services to the multitudes of potential clients who show up to network and engage in subtle site inspections. This one was no exception. Dan Fehlig, the director of the Upper Crust, co-hosted the event in his intimate event space called 91, and showcased a real-time transformation of the space before the eyes of 100 guests.
He described the transformation from "a little sizzle in temperature and seasoning" to "cool on the palate and in the attitude." The look changed through the use of lighting and food, and took only a minute. A wall of doors along the back of the space slid open, and guests watched the kitchen staff remove all the hot items and replace them with exquisite cold ones while lighting and sound gave a fantasy feeling to the scene. The doors of the kitchen then closed and rays of blue light changed the space to a different look and feel, without any changes to the actual d?cor.
