"Where the F.C.U.K. did all these people come from?" might have been the question on event planners' minds at the launch party for the French Connection UK's (F.C.U.K.) line of fragrances at new Midtown club LQ. But Harrison and Shriftman's Hilary Broderick was more tactful. "We were expecting 400 [guests], but 875 showed up," she said.
Fortunately, LQ can handle a swelling crowd, thanks to the cavernous venue's ample 15,000 square feet of space. The event marked the Midtown club's first corporate event, coming the day after a preview for event planners hosted by Save the Date, the company handling events for the venue.
Bentley Meeker projected the F.C.U.K. logo in white on the dance floor and walls, and blue, pink and white lights highlighted the bar and lounge areas. Two large replicas of the fragrance bottles revolved in a large display in the entryway, which Meeker washed in red lights. To match the event's "Scent to Bed" theme, a large white bed draped with white linens and canopies stood on the stage, suggestive of the company's risque ad campaign—its bedding line is called "F.C.U.K. at Home"—and the names of the new scents, "F.C.U.K. Him" and "F.C.U.K. Her."

At French Connection UK's fragrance launch, bottles of the fragrance were displayed in LQ's circular cutout wall backlit with red lights.

Giant displays in the shape of the fragrances' bottle were displayed in the entryway.

Bentley Meeker projected gobos of the F.C.U.K. logo on the walls of the lounge area.

Two flat-screen monitors flanked the sides of LQ's stage, where planners set a bed draped with white canopies.
