Mustang's 40th anniversary party at the Manhattan Auto Group had all the elements you might expect from the brand: hot colors, hot girls and high octane. Ford's manager of global product development events Dave Scully hired Treehouse Events' Christopher Casinelli to coordinate the event, which debuted a new Mustang concept car and celebrated the dealership's massive remodeling, in addition to marking the model's milestone anniversary during the week of the New York International Auto Show. More than 300 auto industry insiders and members of the international press attended the event.
Treehouse divided the party space into sections celebrating elements of Mustang's brand personality, including areas inspired by California beaches, the 60's and race cars, with decor by Matthew David. Abigail Kirsch's dinner menu corresponded, with California crudites and Shelby chili and Texas Speedway slaw served on checkered trays. Iced cookies stamped "Fortieth Anniversary" made for edible branding. And the pièce de résistance: Coverall-clad models served candy-red "high-octane Kool-Aid" shots from gasoline cans on chrome trays.
