On the Cheap
Security can make or break your event, especially with high-profile guests. Professional event security can help keep the event on schedule by ensuring guests enter and exit without hassle. Knight Security, staffed with former NYPD personnel, can provide security guards for about $30 to $40 per guard per hour, and armed or unarmed guards for personal/executive protection for about $35 to $50 per guard per hour.
Mid-Price
Add extra protection with bomb-detecting dogs and metal detectors. Mike Zimet Enterprises, a firm solely dedicated to event security and executive protection, can bring in staff at $40 to $44 per guard per hour. Trained bomb detecting dogs add another $250 to $400 per hour to that price, and handheld metal detectors are $50 to $75 per piece (walk-through metal detectors are $750 to $1,000 per piece).
Splurge
For complete safety of your guests and event, consider state-certified on-site paramedics, first aid stations, standby ambulances, and security guards trained in CPR. Assured Protection charges around $40 per person per hour for on-site paramedics, $150 per hour for an ambulance, $500 per event to set up first aid stations (which does not include the fee for two paramedics needed to staff the booth), and $30 per guard per hour for security.
