1. In 2009, Forbes Traveler ranked Atlantic City among the country’s 10 best golf cities, but if you don’t fancy a trip to the links, Atlantic City Miniature Golf sits right on the Boardwalk. There are 18 holes for practicing putting skills, and in addition to hosting groups, the facility is also available for full buyouts for events, with room for as many as 150 people.
2. For a team more into American Idol than the P.G.A. Tour, there is Planet Rose, the Tropicana’s karaoke bar. Equipped with its own karaoke system, a 20-person private room is offered for a minimum of eight people for two hours; larger groups can take over this area as well as tables in the main room.
3. For oenophiles, Balic Winery in Mays Landing—less than 30 minutes from Atlantic City—is a 57-acre vineyard and winery that has been producing since 1965. Founded by Savo Balic and now run by his nephew Bojan Boskovic, the site offers tours for private groups of as many as 20, as well as private tastings and cheese pairings.
4. The local baseball team is gone, but sports enthusiasts can head to Game On, a sports bar and lounge with 90 high-definition TVs. As many as 450 fans can watch a game in the third-floor venue, or smaller groups can take over one of the three skyboxes, where PlayStation and Wii consoles are set up.
