1. In historic Gardner’s Basin, the Atlantic City Aquarium rents out its space, including the 100-seat Harborview Room. The entire aquarium is available for events after 5 p.m., with room for as many as 400 people. The grounds can be tented.
2. After the 206-room Courtyard by Marriott Atlantic City debuted in May 2008, the chain introduced a series of eco-friendly event products—recycled paper pads, organic flowers, linen-less buffet tables—at its hotels around the country.
3. Atlantic City’s Carnegie Library Center, one of many built with money donated by steel magnate Andrew Carnegie, is now operated by Richard Stockton College. Renovated in 2004, this three-story facility offers a 75-seat lecture hall with a projector and a 4- by 7-foot drop-down screen.
4. Across the street from the convention center, the 502-room Sheraton Atlantic City has two ballrooms and 18 meeting spaces. The 11,618-square-foot Crown Ballroom splits into five sections, holds 1,200 for receptions, or can accommodate 70 8- by 8-foot trade show booths.
