When organizers started planning the recent 25th reunion for Harvard University’s Class of 1990, they knew they wanted an activity that would reintroduce alumni to the campus and its history in a way that was entertaining and accessible for everyone. Employing a smartphone app, Watson Adventures created a scavenger hunt that proved to be a big hit.
While team-building games sometimes seem designed to embarrass colleagues who don't live at the gym or have the flexibility and coordination of an Olympic gymnast, Watson Adventures has been engaging a variety of personalities and companies since 1999. The secret? Make the game smart, emphasize teamwork and brains over athletics, and make the rewards worth the effort.

Watson Adventures’ scavenger hunts challenge participants to find remarkable places and objects and answer tricky, humorous questions about what they've discovered. Often, the hunts take place in museums or in historical neighborhoods.

When McGraw Hill hosted a conference in Chicago, it treated 200 attendees to a Watson Adventures hunt at the Field Museum. AstraZeneca recently took 120 employees on a hunt at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Meanwhile, Deloitte welcomed 260 new hires by sending them on scavenger hunts at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Natural History.

In addition to museums, hunts are often held in other indoor locations, including Grand Central Terminal in New York City. This allows Watson Adventures to provide a rain plan for clients booking an outdoor scavenger hunt.

Even when a group is pinned down in a conference room or convention center, Watson Adventures can step in with two games to help create a mental escape: the Trivia Slam and the Killer Trivia Game.

The Trivia Slam features teamwork-forging trivia questions, varied rounds that incorporate music and visual challenges, a surprising "scavenger hunt" round, and a final round that heightens the excitement while keeping low-scoring teams engaged and hopeful. For mystery fans, the Killer Trivia Game combines all those elements with a murder-mystery that involves devilishly clever puzzles.
Watson Adventures employs more than 16 years specializing in scavenger hunts to provide groups with activities that fit a seemingly impossible combination of requirements.
