TODAY'S CALENDAR:
Boston Pops opening night in Boston; Sweets and Snacks Expo continues in Chicago
* INCOMING *
1. FACEBOOK'S ROAD SHOW: The company's pre-I.P.O. presentation came to New York's Sheraton Hotel Monday. Time: "'I've never seen anything like this—even at the White House,' one investor emailed from inside the ballroom…Usually it's not a big deal to slip into investor presentations without an invitation. Most people usually have extras and are glad to share. But apparently there were some very real concerns about safety." In addition to watching a half-hour video already posted online, "there was the Cobb salad (not so tasty, I hear) and a brownie." http://ti.me/ICwKFt
Wall Street Journal: "At one point, the line, leading to a second-floor ballroom where the meeting was scheduled to be held at 11:45 a.m., stretched down to the first floor and spilled out of the hotel for nearly half a city block." http://on.wsj.com/Iz9pEO
C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg spoke in New York, but he skipped the Boston stop at the Four Seasons on Tuesday. Friday's stop is a lunch at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Palo Alto, California.
2. NATO & MRS. O: The Chicago Tribune: "First lady Michelle Obama will give the spouses of NATO leaders a taste of her native South Side on May 20 before a private dinner for them at the Art Institute of Chicago, her aides said Monday. She's inviting the group to tour the Gary Comer Youth Center...Performers slated to entertain the dignitaries include the Soul Children of Chicago; the South Shore Dance Drill Team, which makes its home at the youth center; and the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, known for African and African-American dance, music and folklore performances. Noted Chicago chef Paul Kahan, an Obama favorite, will work with young people from the youth center to create a private lunch for the spouses." http://trib.in/IXi9CW
3. OBAMA CAMPAIGN TREND: Speaking of the first couple: The Atlantic identifies "a mini-trend in political fundraising: the Obama campaign enlisting its technology staffers to serve as the draw at low-to-mid-dollar events, offering would-be donors not only a chance to rub elbows with those at the forefront of political technology but also a glimpse at what the campaign has in the works when it comes to the Internet, mobile, and more in its competition against Mitt Romney."

4. NEW HOTEL MEETING ROOMS: USA Today: "Hotels have found a new business opportunity in today's mobile, technology-driven world: selling small, tech-equipped meeting rooms for private business gatherings. Westin today will announce a pilot program to replace at least some of its old-fashioned hotel business centers with contemporary meeting rooms that offer some privacy." http://usat.ly/IYogqH
5. KOMEN CORRECTION: An update on the Daily Beast story earlier this week about Susan G. Komen Foundation: The Washington Post reports that Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, will not host the Komen Race for the Cure kickoff reception June 2 because it's their daughter's wedding day. http://wapo.st/ISAUN4
6. NEW RIM TEAM: Blackberry maker Research in Motion has hired Kristian Tear as chief operating officer and Frank Boulben as chief marketing officer.
