Dallas Fort Worth Spaces

1. Nikkei

Serving Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine such as miso black cod and salmon ceviche, Nikkei opened in February in Uptown Dallas. The bi-level supper club offers 3,000 square feet of space for events, which can accommodate 400 guests cocktail style or 125 for plated dinners. A rooftop patio/bar offers views of the surrounding neighborhood and includes a built-in photo booth.

Smoky Rose, a chef-driven smokehouse and kitchen, opened across the street from the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden in December. The kitchen serves southern-style fare such as smoked chicken wings, pulled pork, and smoked turkey, while the bar focuses on creative cocktails, craft beer, and wine on tap. The restaurant includes two 375-square-foot private dining rooms that can each seat 30 guests or hold 40 for cocktails. This spring, the restaurant will add an outdoor patio that can fit 70 guests for seated dinners or 100 for cocktail receptions.

Located just two blocks from the Dallas Convention Center, the artsy and modern Lorenzo Hotel opened in February. The 237-room property includes several spaces that can be used for events, including the 3,038-square-foot Skye Ballroom, the 448-square-foot Horizon Room, and two Idea Labs measuring 364 square feet each. The Skye Ballroom can accommodate 200 guests in rounds, the Horizon Room seats 30 in rounds, and the Idea Labs can each accommodate 14 in a conference-style set-up. Event spaces include complimentary Wi-Fi, drop-down screens, and HDMI hookups.

Toasted Coffee & Kitchen opened in November in East Dallas. The menu focuses on “artisan toast,” with creative offerings like the Pecan Do It (with avocado-chocolate ganache, brie slices, and pecans) and the Ricotta Be Kidding (with ricotta cheese, strawberries, and basil). With a cool, industrial vibe, the space features high ceilings, an open kitchen, a show bakery, and a lofted balcony overlooking the dining room. The 3,721-square-foot main dining area can seat 150 guests, while the 900-square-foot upstairs loft seats 45.

5. Aloft Dallas Love Field

Aloft Dallas Love Field opened less than a mile from Love Field Airport in February. The 133-room hotel shares facilities with neighboring Element Dallas Love Field, offering a total of 7,300 square feet of event space. The 4,100-square-foot West Love Ballroom can accommodate 330 guests banquet-style, 450 theater-style, or 400 for receptions. Two smaller rooms add nearly 2,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space. The hotel offers free airport shuttle service and complimentary Wi-Fi, as well as an outdoor pool, fitness center, and its signature Wxyz Bar.

6. Stirr Dallas

Stirr Dallas, a restaurant/bar in Deep Ellum, opened in November. The venue offers views of downtown Dallas on the 3,000-square-foot rooftop patio, as well as 3,000 square feet of indoor space. Planners can use the bi-level space for cocktail-style receptions for as many as 550 people and banquet-style meals for as many as 400. The menu presents modern American fare such as chili-brisket tacos, steamed mussels, and black pepper-crusted venison.

7. Moxie’s Grill & Bar
7. Moxie’s Grill & Bar

Moxie’s Grill & Bar opened a location in Uptown Dallas in November, marking the Canadian chain’s entrance into the United States market. The menu features globally inspired cuisine from chipotle mango chicken to Korean-style fried cauliflower. The restaurant seats 210 guests in the 8,000-square-foot dining room, as well as 170 on the outdoor patio. In total, Moxie’s can accommodate as many as 588 guests for reception-style events.

In November, chef Julian Rodarte opened Beto & Son at Trinity Grove. The forward-thinking restaurant aims to create the next generation of from-scratch Mexican food, with offerings such as Mexican poutine, taco boards, and liquid nitrogen margaritas. For private events, the colorful 2,500-square-foot space can accommodate as many as 85 guests, and a partially enclosed patio seats as many as 100.

9. Aloft Richardson at CityLine

Set to open in late March in Richardson’s CityLine entertainment district, Aloft Richardson at CityLine is a new 148-room hotel. The modern property will feature bright decor, an outdoor pool, the Wxyz bar, and a fitness center. The hotel will include two meeting rooms measuring 2,600 square feet and 400 square feet, respectively, as well as an outdoor plaza. Planners can book events for as many as 200 guests cocktail-style, 150 for seated dinners, or 200 theater-style.

10. Another Broken Egg Café

As its name implies, Another Broken Egg Café specializes in brunch and lunch, but the restaurant is available for private events starting at 4 p.m. The chain opened a new space in January in Addison, where the 2,200-square-foot dining room can seat about 150 guests. A 400-square-foot private room seats 25.
