Here's a look at Houston's new spaces open for events this fall. The new and renovated Houston venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: At BizBash, we're still committed to bringing you ideas and inspiration for when (yes, when!) events are back up and running. Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to the pandemic, or they may be operating at a lower capacity.
The Four Seasons Hotel Houston

The Four Seasons Hotel Houston is in the midst of a multiyear renovation, with a new design for the guest rooms unveiled in June. Houston architect and designer Lauren Rottet of Rottet Studios envisioned a color palette inspired by clouds across a big Texas sky, with details like sky-blue fabrics, saddle leather, and dark oak wood. Bathrooms are outfitted with white marble and deep-blue accents. Specialty suites have also been refreshed in the guest-room renovations: The State, Ambassador, and top floor Presidential Suites now have new furnishings and upgraded wet bars. A renovation is also in the works for The Four Seasons Hotel Houston's ballroom and meeting spaces, which are scheduled to be completed in December 2020.

Molina's Cantina

Houston Tex-Mex classic Molina's Cantina opened a new location in September in Fulshear. This third location will serve enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, and more, just like at the Westheimer and Bellaire locations. H3D Hospitality Design created a modern Western theme for the 5,800-square-foot restaurant, incorporating distressed wood, studded red and turquoise leather chairs, white-washed brick walls, and painted blue-and-white tiles. Molina's Cantina in Fulshear seats 249 indoors, 107 of which are in the bar area with a 72-foot wraparound bar. There's also a covered patio with room for 58 diners.

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House will be a destination for waterfront dining, with a 2,250-square-foot patio lounge with views of fishing boats working the Houston Ship Channel. Set to open this fall, the restaurant located in San Leon is from Prestige Oysters's Raz Halili. Order freshly shucked oysters and Gulf Coast seafood from executive chef Joe Cervantez, or cocktails from the expansive central wraparound bar in the 5,000-square-foot dining room. The light and bright space is designed by Coeval Studio and has wood tones, white-washed shiplap, and greenery. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors run the length of the dining room, providing a view to the water and connecting the space with the patio. Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House's dining room boasts 170 seats; the bar seats 30 and the patio seats 75.

Houston Botanic Garden

The Houston Botanic Garden opened in September with 132 acres filled with horticultural displays and walking trails—and a mission to encourage discovery and educate visitors about the conservation of plants and the natural environment. An event space called the Woodland Glade with magnolia trees and sculpted hedges is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2020. Two climate-controlled tents will soon be available for rentals: One tent adjacent to the Woodland Glade will accommodate 250 seated guests or 500 standing guests for receptions. Another tent is adjacent to the Culinary Garden and will accommodate 100 seated guests or 200 standing guests for receptions.
