Here's a closer look at Houston's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated Houston venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to COVID-19, or they may be operating at a lower capacity. As venues begin to slowly reopen across North America, we encourage event organizers to contact the venues to verify current capacity restrictions.
Casa Nomad
Oaxacan G&Ts and tuna crudo tostadas are on the menu at Casa Nomad, a new Tulum-inspired restaurant within the M-K-T development in The Heights. The restaurant opened in September with decor from Dallas-based design firm Coeval that's meant to evoke a vacation in the Mayan Riviera, complete with tropical plants, rope rigging, neon signage and rattan-style pendants. Casa Nomad is available for private events, and the intimate space seats 40. The team behind Wicklow Heights is responsible for Casa Nomad and is also planning a sister restaurant at M-K-T called Highline Park. Casa Nomad and Highline Park will share a kitchen and bathrooms.

Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites by Hilton
A dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites by Hilton opened on the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus in September. The property from American Liberty Hospitality has 300 rooms and 3,600 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. Designed by Houston-based MCS Architects, the 10-story hotel includes a dedicated meeting and event space on the second floor that can accommodate as many as 150 guests for banquet-style events. Art decorating the spacious ballroom foyer includes works commemorating veterans and celebrating the medical achievements made by famed Houston surgeon Michael E. Debakey. Each hotel has its own lounge and dining area flanking the central lobby.

Rosalie
C. Baldwin Hotel, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, reopened its restaurant helmed by star chef Chris Cosentino in September. Rosalie's menu includes Italian American classics from arancini to Texas wild boar ragu. The restaurant embraces a floral theme, as seen in a green wall with tropical flowers and the pizza oven decorated with tiles from Italy arranged in a rose pattern. The main dining room seats 44, the greenery-filled sunroom seats 14 and the lounge seats 25 including an eight-seat family table. An outdoor terrace can accommodate 100 seated guests or 175 for receptions. Rosalie debuted shortly before the pandemic and then closed for more than a year.

The Plant Project
In addition to hosting workshops on how to grow houseplants and potting 101, The Plant Project's new location in Houston is available for events. The Black- and female-owned boutique nursery celebrated a grand opening in July. Bree Iman Clarke, founder of The Plant Project, decorated the space with rattan furniture, pink chairs, deep green walls, neon signage, gold accents, and plenty of house plants and greenery for sale. Combined with an outside space that can be tented, The Plant Project in Montrose can accommodate as many as 40 guests. Clarke, a Houston native, also owns thriving The Plant Project shops in Dallas.

Even Hotel Shenandoah - The Woodlands
Wellness-minded brand Even Hotels opened its first property in Texas in May. The 120-room Even Hotel Shenandoah - The Woodlands includes a fitness studio stocked with high-end equipment like Woodway treadmills and three zones for cardio, strength training and core exercises. The on-site restaurant is called Cork & Kale, and guests can relax in an outdoor courtyard with a living green wall of plants. The hotel offers 1,468 square feet of meeting and event space and can accommodate as many as 98 guests for theater- or reception-style events, 45 guests for classroom-style events or 32 guests seated in a U-shape configuration.
