VENUE: The New Whiskey Bar

Rande Gerber's reinvented Whiskey, once the in-house bar at Ian Schrager's Paramount Hotel, has opened in the basement of the new W New York -- Times Square. The bar's entrance now features an underlit panel of acrylic floor tiles filled with oil, a dance floor equipped with a state-of-the-art DJ booth, and a screening room (which can seat 60) with a 19-foot high definition TV screen. (People are already inquiring about Super Bowl bashes.) And for those partygoers who can't get enough mingling, the bar has communal bathrooms.
