The nightlife scene in the Church and Wellesley/Gay Village neighborhood got another venue with last summer's debut of Boutique Bar, a chic cocktail lounge owned by French mixologist Julien Salomone.
The dark decor inside the lounge includes exposed brick, a modern, glass-fronted fireplace, and a sleek black bar backed by an expansive mirror. A sizable wooden patio at the front of Boutique Bar features a wraparound table.
Given Salomone's past tenure at spots such as Nota Bene, it's no surprise to find an inventive cocktail list that uses fresh ingredients and house-made syrups in drinks like frozen razz lemonade—citrus vodka, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, cranberry juice, and a house raspberry coulis. An extensive wine list is also available.
The venue is available for full buyout, holding 26 people inside and 36 outside. There are also plans in the works to expand the patio for summer.
