Rhinestones and baubles have been turning up all over town—and not just on the red carpets. Jewels have also made their way into centerpieces and furniture.

Proving that sparkle can dress up more than an outfit, Form Decor recently bedecked midcentury designer Florence Knoll’s benches with sparkling gems. The company added Swarovski crystal buttons to the tufted cushioning of Knoll’s white vinyl bench and trimmed her black satin bench with rhinestones to achieve what owner Fritz Williams calls a touch of “old Hollywood glamour.” Benches rent for $200 a week.
Rather than compete with the jewelry line that was unveiled at the launch of Westwood’s Uniquely Yours store, event designers incorporated the collection’s necklaces, watches, rings, and bracelets into the decor. Signature Inc. made clear plexiglass buffet and cocktail tables to house the jewels, which sat atop beds of roses and illuminated milk plexiglass cubes.

For an underwater-theme poolside party at a swank Hollywood Hills home, Bre Bailey of Earth Angel (702.524.4682) turned to the fabled treasures of the underwater city of Atlantis as his inspiration for table centerpieces. Bailey topped a base of oversized faux diamonds and ocean-hued crushed glass with a
mermaidlike statuette holding a diamond.
