After 15 years at Bryant Park, IMG Fashion is packing up and taking Fashion Week to Lincoln Center. The organizer of the biannual shows is expected to announce the move at a press conference this afternoon, but the change comes as little surprise, given the complaints made by the Bryant Park Corporation over the years.
Following a two-year search, IMG Fashion and the Council of Fashion Designers of America have settled on Damrosch Park, the Associated Press reported. Located at the southwest corner of Lincoln Center's performing arts campus, the site houses a tent each spring and has been the venue for events including the CW's 2007 upfront presentation and the American Ballet Theater's spring gala.
The shift uptown will not be immediate—as per an agreement made in September 2007, the shows will remain under the tents at Bryant Park through the February 2010 season.
