

Washington Business Journal hosted its annual Book of Lists Party on January 26 at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Floral designer Philippa Tarrant crafted paper flowers out of old editions of the publication.




The event's hashtag was showcased in signage created with orange feathers.

For a locally inspired meeting break idea, Le Méridien Chicago Oakbrook Center has a Sweet Home Chicago menu that offers a variety of self-serve candy that originated in the city, including Lemonheads, Milk Duds, Red Hots, Tootsie Rolls, and Dots. Named after the blues song by Robert Johnson, the candy-shop-inspired display—which also offers pretzel bites and lemonade and iced tea—comes with a chalkboard sign that displays information about the Chicago-founded National Confections Association.




Viva La Juicy Sucré and Bustle sponsored an Instagram-friendly Sucré Garden, which was designed by event designer Michelle Bablo. The pink display featured dessert-inspired decor including flower ice cream cones.



On March 3, Canada’s National Ballet School hosted its annual fund-raising gala at Toronto’s the Carlu. The patriotic theme was Canadiana in honor of Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation.



Alice & Olivia launched its eye-candy-theme eyewear collection with an event on April 12 that took place at the Greenhouse at Platform Los Angeles. Produced by Hello Samo and the A-List, the event featured a massive pink bubble press wall.

For the launch of TNT’s new series Will, which centers on a young William Shakespeare, the network worked with Empire Entertainment to produce a premiere screening on New York’s Bryant Park lawn in June. Guests viewed the premiere episode on a large screen while enjoying food from Hester Street Fair vendors, including the aptly named “To Banh Mi or Not to Banh Mi.” After the screening, guests walked to the Bryant Park Grill, which had been transformed into a festive Elizabethan party.

Elderflower liqueur brand St-Germain partnered with creative director Lily Kwong for the Los Angeles debut of Maison St-Germain, which took place August 2 at the Houdini Estate. The event had a magical realism and botanical fantasy theme, with decor elements that included a white silhouette of a house with hanging florals.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center hosted its 21st Annual Recognition Dinner July 20 at the historic Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado. The event featured cocktails, dinner, and a live auction of works by contemporary artists, which was facilitated by Sotheby’s. Design team Snarkitecture created the mountain landscape-inspired decor. All proceeds benefited Anderson Ranch’s educational programs.
