At the Citizens Committee for New York City's New Yorker for New York awards, theatrical designer Martin Izquierdo--who also designed decor for Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project benefit--decorated the tables with patriotic New York-centric centerpieces of red apples with the American and New York City flags sticking out. He also provided a cartoon drawing of the Statue of Liberty for the stage backdrop.
