Angels and dominaitrices shared the runway at Gen Art's Styles Miami 2004 fashion show. Presented by Gen Art and Perrier, Styles Miami 2004 showcased the winning designers from Gen Art New York's international design competition with a provocative runway show. And what better place to show off the fabulous designs than at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts, which is known for its stylish Moorish architecture.
Guests, who were packed into the theater, enjoyed cocktails—thanks to sponsors such as Flor de Cana, Boru Vodka, and Red Stripe. While libations flowed at more than four bars located both upstairs and down, Perrier, a major sponsor of the event, provided a nonalcoholic option at its own bar. Tables with silky white linens provided by Diamonette gave guests a place to set their drinks down while they danced to the high-energy beat supplied by DJ Smeejay, who spun everything from trance music to Celia Cruz tracks. Guests were able to view jewelry by Nicole Landaw, the winner of the Gen Art Design Vision Award for Accessories.
After a video montage of the design competition made by Fast Forward Productions, the evening's main event began. Hosted by shoe guru Donald J Pliner, the fashion show introduced the audience to the creative designs of the four winners—which ranged from flowing silk dresses to black Matrix-like leather ensembles. L'Oréal, ECRU New York, and M.A.C. Cosmetics styled models from the Michelle Pommier agency.
After the fashion show, the party continued in the Design District at the District restaurant and lounge. Guests mingled in the outdoor courtyard, relaxing on white couches or stayed inside, hanging out by the bar, which changed colors throughout the evening. Here, ECRU New York's stylists created all kinds of updos—from bouncy buns to puffy ponytails—on eager partygoers, adding a little more glamour to the night.

Guests were not shy about posing for photos at the Gen Art Styles Miami 2004.

Subtly simple was the decor statement made at the Gen Art Styles Miami 2004.

A mostly white background served as an ideal backdrop for the designers' fashions.
