For a holiday gift ideas party, Candice Best, president of Best PR Boutique, chose a space she could transform into an ideal showcase for household products—a friend's penthouse apartment. "We wanted a venue we could tear apart and redesign," said Best, adding "we stripped it back to only a couch, mirror, and bed." Designer Jessica Cotton, of HGTV's Design Inc., gave the space a fresh look and worked with retailers to display their wares with style—and an edge.Pink Beauty Cosmetics adorned the bathroom with beauty products, JacKryn France supplied furniture pillows and bed sheets, and fashion companies Mendocino and Whitney Kids filled the bedroom closets with clothing. On the roof-top patio, DJ Marc De Breyne spun mellow tunes opposite a bar stocked with wine from Lulu B Wines.
Bistro & Bakery Thuet served fresh breads and dips and gave away foie gras dog biscuits (which some guests snacked on, forgetting about their pets). Salt & Pepper Catering provided mini cupcakes for dessert. Parting gifts included a loaf of fresh bread from Bistro & Bakery Thuet.
