Joining the ever-growing trend of vendor spaces turned into event venues is Tribbles Studio, originally a retail shop and currently home to the floral and event design company founded by Cara Stone-Pfeifer. The 1,500-square-foot venue holds as many as 74 people and is situated on West Broadway in TriBeCa, near restaurants such as Bouley, Odeon, and Landmarc.
Stone-Pfeifer, who trained as an architect before branching out into event design, sold off most of her store's inventory—home and garden supplies as well as furniture—and reopened the store in late April. In the small but flexible space, stone columns accent the concrete floor and wooden shelves, and an extensive chandelier hangs overhead. The light fixture, created for a recent TD Bank event at Skylight, is composed of several glass tubes and can be removed if necessary,
In addition to a sound system, track lighting throughout, and a wide street-level entrance for easy load-in, Tribbles Studio also offers an extensive collection of vases, candles, and other decor items that come included in the venue rental fee. Also available is on-site planning and design provided by Stone-Pfeifer's company.
