A new, fully remodeled venue has opened in the former Republic space on La Cienega; 650 North is named for the venue's physical address. The space, in West Hollywood on the Los Angeles city border, sits at La Cienega Boulevard and Melrose Place. Chef Isaias Castillo serves bistro food like paninis, salads, and daily pasta specials.
The venue comprises 14,000 square feet, with several spaces and rooms available on two levels, and a maximum event capacity of 1,200. There are five entrances, so multiple events in different sections of the venue can occur simultaneously.
The 1,434-square-foot La Cienega Lounge has eclectic furnishings, a lighted wrought iron bar front, and twin flat-screen HDTVs. It seats 60 or holds 110 for a reception.
The 2,711-square-foot Great Hall dining area is furnished with reproductions of classic French, English, and American furniture, along with leather armchairs and sofas. It has a 20-foot wine wall and two LED lighting alcoves that change color. A 22-foot bar graces the lounge area of the Great Hall, adjacent to the first-floor dining area. The patio adjacent to the Great Hall has a waterfall and holds 60 for receptions.
The Melrose Lounge sits above the Melrose Place Cafe, accessed by a hidden, separate entrance. The bar area has a flat-screen HDTV.
The property at 650 North also has an adjacent 5,000-square-foot outdoor area for use for large events. The Atrium may be used in conjunction with any or all of the 650 North interior areas and holds 480 for a reception.
