Synchronized swimmers have long been a popular way to add some entertainment to a pool-centric event—so why not turn it into a subtle branding moment? At Coachella in 2019, Adidas' annual Sports Club featured synchronized swimmers wearing the brand's iconic black-and-white sneakers. Taking it a step further, the event also had the Adidas logo floating in the water; water jetpack acrobatics entertained guests and served as an eye-catching photo op. Live performance art, Chaka Khan, and late-night snacks were just some of the surprises in store for guests at the 2023 ArtEdge gala in Chicago.
Hand-painted, 20-foot flowers hung over ArtEdge's dinner reception. Throughout the night, the flowers opened and closed in what HMR event designer Jason Williquette described as “a moment of whimsy.” HMR designed the flowers, and Frost Chicago installed them.

The menu included seared tuna with spring peas, pickled vegetables, black garlic mustard, and horseradish creme fraiche; grilled branzino with salsa verde; pan-roasted chicken with morel cream sauce; charred heirloom carrots with romesco sauce; grilled romaine hearts with Caesar dressing; and spring pea risotto. For dessert, guests dined on strawberry shortcake with buttermilk biscuit crumble, creme fraiche, and a strawberry cream puff. Olivier Cheng Catering provided the catering.

Freeform's Nostalgic Cruel Summer Premiere Was a '90s Kid's Dream
To celebrate season 2 of the Jessica Biel-produced mystery series, the brand hosted a lakeside Y2K-inspired celebration—complete with throwback details, a New Year's Eve celebration, and even some beloved '90s stars.
The event featured a number of fun details to evoke both the show's lakeside setting and its 1999-2000 time period. “The team dissected every frame of the first few episodes looking for those subtle nods to the time period that the show did so well,” Travis remembered. “Y2K has had such a resurgence recently, so it was a nice blend of what people see in pop culture right now and what people remember.”

Is it any surprise that something called DiscOasis offered a wealth of fun event inspo? After all, the walkthrough theatrical experience was billed as a “glittering sonic fantasia for the soul.' Taking over South Coast Botanic Garden near Los Angeles in 2021, the public ticketed experience let guests explore six different areas, each featuring a different photo op-friendly art installation that was inspired by a specific disco song, as well as a live actor interacting with guests. In one fun spot, a giant disco ball was split open and filled with lush florals.
