A new brewery is moving into Washington's NoMa neighborhood in early 2019. Red Bear Brewing will be located in the historic Uline Arena Building, adjacent to the NoMa-Gallaudet metro stop and D.C.'s new flagship REI store. Sales of kegs for events will be available, if coordinated in advance. The brewery itself will have a large taproom, kitchen, and small stage and will be able to seat 140 people with a maximum capacity of 300. The bar at Red Bear Brewing will serve as many as 24 different draft beers, wines, ciders, and meads.

In 2019, Washington florist Holley Simmons will open a new flower and plant shop called She Loves Me in the Petworth neighborhood at 808 Upshur Street. In addition to retail shopping and craft classes upstairs in the Lemon Collective workshop space, She Loves Me will offer floral arrangements for events.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC added a new treatment in August that includes a meditative nap. The chakra rebalance treatment begins with gentle vibration and soft music via the spa's award-winning sound and massage system known as the Gharieni Spa Wave Table. This treatment continues with a Thai poultice massage incorporating bags filled with herbs kneaded over the body and concludes with a nap set to light vibration and relaxing sounds.

Acclaimed pastry chef Pichet Ong creates elaborate cakes at Brothers and Sisters, the hip new restaurant from chef Erik Bruner-Yang at the Line hotel in Adams Morgan. Treats like the peaked cheesecake, dubbed the Mykonos, or the London crepe cake with Earl Grey cream are available for purchase for events. All cakes are $90 and can be ordered online and picked up at Brothers and Sisters or the Line.
