Last week was full of gourmet fetes, and all of them involved chef Daniel Boulud. On Tuesday, Boulud hosted a party at his restaurant Daniel to toast Gordon Ramsay and his new book, A Chef For All Seasons. Then on Thursday, Boulud attended Alain Ducasse's party (organized by Susan Magrino Agency) for his new book, Harvesting Excellence. Both book parties drew a list of master chefs and foodies, including Alain Sailhac, Andre Soltner and Tim Zagat.
Boulud had to cut out of Ducasse early to get to the March of Dimes gala honoring him at the University Club, with a five-course meal cooked by chefs from restaurants in New York (Lespinasse and L'Absinthe) and France. And Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Martha Stewart both attended Ducasse's party, and also visited with Julia Child at the Williams-Sonoma store opening, which was catered by Feast & F?tes, the catering arm of, yes, Daniel Boulud.
