Philippe Chow (former chef of Mr. Chow) opened Philippe, a contemporary Chinese restaurant, in December in the Midtown space formerly occupied by RM. The serene and minimalist two-story venue features a sleek black and white bar and lounge with bright red pillows and bar stools, and the dining rooms have dark brown leather banquettes and chairs. Three dining spaces (one on the lower floor and two upstairs) seat a total of 240, and the private wine cellar seats 30. The entire space holds 350 for receptions. —Anna Sekula
