Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana is bringing its pasta, wood-fired-oven pizza, and wood-burning rotisserie duck to Reston. The Italian eatery, slated to open at the Reston Town Center in August, will be the chain’s 20th location and its first East Coast spot (the majority of the company's restaurants are in California).
The newest Il Fornaio will seat 120 people inside and 40 people on the piazza (on Market Street), and 30 people can sit at the bar. There’s also a private dining room that can hold 48. In addition to homemade pasta dishes such as fettuccine, ravioli, and gnocchi, the restaurant also serves an array of baked goods including biscotti and torte. (Il Fornaio originally started as a bakery in Milan in 1975.)
