For Salads and Sandwiches: Pickle Cycle

Toronto's Vert Catering provides lunch service for meetings via its "Pickle Cycle." Staffers on old-fashioned bikes deliver salads and sandwiches such as ham and cheese with candied apples. Items are served in eco-friendly, reusable takeout containers, which the company picks up weekly to fully wash and sanitize.

For Coffeehouse-Style Drinks: Aroma Express

Aroma Express: Mobile Espresso Caterers serves Canada and several locations along the Eastern Seaboard, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The company dispatches its tricycle trolleys to events, where baristas brew coffeehouse-style drinks such as lattes, mochas, and cappuccinos.

For Shaved Ice: Ice Riders NYC

Available throughout the New York area, Ice Riders NYC offers its bicycle-powered shaved ice machine for events. Packages include staff, compostable dishes and utensils, and six flavors of your choice, such as watermelon and wild cherry. A portion of profits is donated to earth-friendly charities.

For Comfort Food: Hot Bike

The Hot Bike comes with a mobile kitchen attached. The setup includes a propane-fueled stove and a pedal-powered blender. Owner Rose Slam Johnson can deliver to the San Francisco, Berkley, and Oakland areas for events of as many as 45 guests. The comfort food menu includes grilled provolone sandwiches, barbecue chicken tacos, coleslaw-topped burger, and honey-flavored hummus.

For Drinking Chocolate: ChocoSol Traders

Based in Toronto, ChocoSol Traders uses pedal-powered machinery to make drinking chocolate at events. Made with organic cacao from southern Mexico, the liquid vegan treat contains no gluten, dairy, soy, or nuts. The company also serves solid chocolate in flavors such as Five Chili Bullet and Sinfully Raw Vanilla.
