Art and Soul
In September, the Liaison Capitol Hill, an Affi nia hotel debuted this 221-seat restaurant helmed by Chicago chef Art Smith. The dining area looks out onto the 76-seat patio through 16-foot glass walls and is separated from the lounge by chain curtains. The restaurant
includes a private room for 50.
Jackson 20
This 120-seat modern colonial tavern opened in Alexandria’s new Hotel Monaco in January 2008. Buyouts are available, and the chef’s table offers private dining for 12.
Ici
The Sofi tel Lafayette Square reopened its Café 15 space in February 2008 with a new design and a new name. A sheer curtain
can be pulled across the 57-seat restaurant to create a semiprivate space for 24.
Adour
Chef Alain Ducasse opened this 65-seat restaurant at the St. Regis in September. Named for the French river near Ducasse’s hometown, the eatery features Brazilian walnut wood, black lacquer, and polished chrome art in the main space, as well as a semiprivate dining area for eight.
