In October, Jacky's on Prairie popped up in Evanston's business district. The 3,000-square-foot bistro hosts private events in its north dining room, which seats 50, and in its south dining room, which can accommodate seated dinners for 45. For smaller groups, a chef's table set up beside a glass-walled wine cellar seats 10.
Banquet packages are available for lunchtime events and dinner parties; the venue can also arrange for appetizer stations or passed hors d'ouevres. Chef Jonadab Silva oversees the menu of seasonal French fare, where options may include foie-gras-oxtail terrine with almond biscotti, fig compote, and demi-glace or roasted cod cheeks with maharajah curry, cauliflower, and cilantro-cream espuma. Other house specialties include oysters and cheese plates.
