6 New Ideas for Entertaining in Los Angeles

Here's a look at what's new for 2016 in Los Angeles.

Get ready for 2016 with the latest ideas in catering, teambuilding activities, and more in and around Los Angeles.

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach introduced surf-centric offerings for meetings and events in summer 2015. Guests are able to hold their boardroom meetings at the beach, complete with notepads, pens, and beach chairs. Other offerings include beach cruiser scavenger hunts, sand-castle-building contests, yoga, sand-side s'mores roasting, and small-group surf and paddleboard classes.

Bottega Louie recently launched a new line of custom special occasion cakes for weddings, birthdays, bridal showers, graduations, corporate events, and more. Customers can work with a cake designer to come up with an original cake or choose a cake from the Los Angeles market's portfolio. Cake flavors include vanilla raspberry, cinnamon cappuccino, and orange chiffon, and quirky style options include a 'Topsy Turvy' cake.

WP24 by Wolfgang Puck at the Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, is currently undergoing a concept and decor revamp, which includes new menu items. For events, the restaurant's catering options now include innovative dim sum creations, such as tiny pork belly dumplings, 'dan dan' dumplings with organic chicken and chili garlic sauce, crystal chive dumplings with Alaskan king crab, and seafood dumplings with sweet shrimp and Maine lobster.

Valerie Confections has new fall and holiday-oriented items that offer adult takes on chocolate, suitable for corporate gifts. Offerings include chocolate owls and pumpkin seed caramels, truffles made with smoked chilies and paprika, and chocolate-dipped dried oranges, pears, and figs. Valerie Confections can also customize boxes, inserts, gift cards, and the actual chocolates with company logos.
