*INCOMING *
1. AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: Last night, the American Music Awards took to the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live, and Taylor Swift was the big winner. But does anyone actually respect the program? Atlanta Journal Constitution: "There was a time, back when Dick Clark truly ran the show, that the awards meant a little something... But now they’re just a glorified People’s Choice Awards."

Beyond the show's questionable relevance, there were its awkward moments—like when Jennifer Lopez shared the stage with the Fiat 500 she is currently promoting.
Los Angeles Times: "The most cringe-inducing, embarrassing performance of the night...was Lopez's choice of an accessory, which in this case was a car. When the actual commercial ran not too long after the performance, the only difference was the emphasis on the name of the brand."

Washington Post blogger Jen Chaney: "Personally, I found the gratuitous promotion of Fiat far more offensive than the pseudo-nudity." The Post also has a list of the "show's weirdest moments," including "about 70 weird things going on" with the LMFAO finale:

2. IMG C.E.O. DIES: Ted Forstmann, C.E.O. and chairman of IMG Worldwide, died on Sunday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 71. The Hollywood Reporter:

3. KLOUT RANKS GUESTS: Event organizers are relying on Klout to determine which guests should get access to V.I.P. areas—or even make the list. The Web site ranks individual’s social media status, and publicists like Alison Brod appreciate its capabilities: “Just because people throw up blogs in their spare time…does not mean they deserve to sit at a show that costs a hundred thousand dollars to produce. Klout helps us sift through the hordes of bloggers.” New York Times:

4. EVITE CLONES COMPETITOR: The online invitation brand’s soon-to-launch Postmark charges for every invitation sent, and offers specialized designs and other customizations for extra fees—which sounds an awful lot like the business model for Paperless Post. Uncrunched:

5. CANNES HONORS MOBILE MEDIA: The awards program at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity has a new category: mobile creative. The award will go to the best work housed on or activated by a mobile device, app or mobile web. Ad Age:

6. KUNIS HAS A BALL: True to a promise she made five months ago, actress Mila Kunis accompanied Sargeant Scott Moore to the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, North Carolina on Friday. Moore originally invited Kunis to be his date in a YouTube video. New York Post:

* ABOUT LAST NIGHT: BRIDES MAGAZINE *
From editor in chief Chad Kaydo: It was Thursday night, actually, when Conde Nast threw a welcome reception for new Brides magazine and Brides.com editor in chief Anne Fulenwider, at the Crown, John DeLucie's clubby restaurant on New York’s Upper East Side. On the guest list: wedding pros not out of town for the Engage conference, including Sylvia Weinstock and Eyal Tessler. On the menu: fried oysters. The general impression of Fulenwider: She's really nice and really smart (a sentiment shared by Fran Lebowitz, an atypical wedding-industry guest, who Fulenwider edited while working at Vanity Fair).
