"Mamma Mia, here I go again." That could be the refrain sung by long-time Republican National Convention-goers. It's also the chorus of John McCain's favorite song. The senator from Arizona chose the Abba tune to play from the invitation to a convention party hosted by McCain and his wife, Cindy, and paid for by Friends of John McCain. Calling the event "Live From New York ... It's Wednesday Night!" the invite promises appearances from current Saturday Night Live cast member Darrell Hammond and has-been Joe Piscopo.
Alpine Creative Group designed the invites, which include a special security measure. Each card is foil stamped with an individual code for guests to use to RSVP and enter the party. On the front: a cartoon drawing packed with New York landmarks. Next to Zabar's: a marquee that proclaims "McCain #1 Abba fan!!" Who knew?
