Looking for a new place to eat near Pasadena's recently overhauled convention center? Enter newly opened Brix 42, a restaurant and brewery specializing in traditional American cuisine and creative beer and wine lists. Owner George Ghaby opened the venue in late March, hoping to execute a modern gastropub concept amid exposed brick walls, wooden floors and tabletops, and plush lounge seating. Multiple plasma screens deck the venue, giving it a casual feel.
In its own brewery, Brix uses fresh ingredients—and no preservatives—to create the offerings on its beer menu. The food menu includes signature dishes such as slow-cooked pot roast with garlic mashed potatoes, beer-battered fish and chips, and chorizo-basted pork tenderloin with sautéed broccoli—all using seasonal ingredients from local farmers markets.
The venue is available for full and partial buyouts with a lounge that holds 50, a dining room that holds 180, and a private dining room for 10. Brewery tours are also available.
