For the Washington National Opera benefit, organizers created a canopy to hang over the middle section of the patio, with tents flanking it. The canopy’s design featured a geometric look—in keeping with the building architecture—with perforations that allowed guests to see through to the night sky.

The centerpieces consisted of photos scattered atop raised Lucite platforms, which guests could pick up and look through during the meal. The family-style dinner platters were eventually placed atop the platforms, as well.

Centerpieces That Give Back Instead of flowers, tables at the Ve'ahavta's Starry Night gala in Toronto in November had towering glass vases filled with abstract-looking arrangements of navy and white socks�a donation from McGregor Socks that doubled as charitable gifts to the homeless.

Hello Kitty by OPI Launch

Nail polish brand OPI celebrated the launch of its new Hello Kitty-theme line with a branded truck that came to New York's West Side Highway and Bryant Park January 21 and 22. The truck gave passersby the chance to test out the new line and take photos with the mascot and also offered hot chocolate and treats from the Hello Kitty Cafe.
