6 Event Venues in St. Louis That Will Wow Attendees

From an architectural playground and museum to a luxury hotel, visitors are sure to be pleasantly surprised.

Interested in bringing a group to St. Louis? This Midwest gem of a destination has a wide variety of event spaces for those looking to pleasantly surprise attendees with all that the city has to offer. Visitors might already know that it's home to Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch, and delectable barbecue, but do they know that an old shoe factory is now a weird, wonderful playground for kids and adults alike? Or that a glamorous speakeasy with a secret entrance is underneath the city's first food hall?

There's more than meets the eye when it comes to St. Louis. Below is a quick list of some unique venues—from a luxury hotel to a wine-forward live music joint—to impress groups of all sizes.

1. City Museum
1. City Museum
We're betting you've never been to a museum like this before. One of the most quintessential St. Louis attractions, the City Museum is unlike any other venue in the city. For starters, it's a mix between a standard museum and an architectural playground. It's housed in an old shoe factory, so expect plenty of weird and wonderful reclaimed materials put to use. It also functions as a unique event venue, able to host a variety of group sizes from 40 to 3,000. Spaces available include the Vault Room, Architecture Hall, and a forthcoming 10th-floor ballroom for 600 seated or 800 standing. Planners can also work with different rental packages, including one that allows guests to explore and enjoy the many funky playgrounds inside. "Adults get into it more than you would think," we were told. It's also a venue perfect for out-of-town guests who want to check something big off of their St. Louis bucket list.

2. Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis

If you're looking for a meeting and event venue with prime views of the Gateway Arch or the Mississippi River, look no further. Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, located downtown, features 200 guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of event space. Venues include a 7,300-square-foot ballroom (fit for up to 900) and an eight-floor Sky Terrace with views of the Arch (fit for up to 250). On-site amenities include an outdoor pool with sweeping views, a 12,000-square-foot spa, a Topgolf Swing Suite, and a newly opened Ramsay's Kitchen concept from Gordon Ramsay. Planners can also book group activities like a round of golf at nearby Norwood Hills Country Club, a yoga class on the Sky Terrace, a Cardinals baseball game with a private tour of the stadium, mixology or cooking lessons, and city tours.

3. America's Center

We'd be remiss not to mention America's Center, which recently completed phase one of a $256 million expansion and facelift. The project, called "AC Next Gen," includes a new 72,000-square-foot exhibit hall, an enhanced Washington Avenue entrance, and more than double the number of loading docks for better exhibit space access. Phase two aims to be completed by the end of this year. The new exhibit hall is now open and features abundant natural light, a flexible airwall system, and an outdoor gathering space with a culinary garden. And when complete, the front door of America’s Center on Washington Avenue will have a refreshed modern look with a new canopy, LED lighting, and touchless entry.

4. City Winery

One of the buzziest recent developments in St. Louis is City Foundry STL, a large mixed-use space that debuted in 2021 in Midtown. It houses the city's first food hall, an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and multiple event spaces—including a City Winery. The STL location of this national chain, like all locations, is built with events in mind. It doubles as a live music and comedy venue after all, so expect state-of-the-art AV equipment and an on-site production manager. Planners can also tap into perks like custom-label wine and custom menus. Rentable spaces include the concert venue, which seats 180; a semi-private mezzanine that seats 30; and the main dining room, which seats 60. A full buyout can accommodate up to 350 attendees reception-style.

5. Expat BBQ

Any out-of-town, meat-eating visitor will surely want to try St. Louis-style barbecue. One joint that's fit for events? Expat BBQ, which is also located within City Foundry STL. The eatery comes from famed restaurateur Gerard Craft's Niche Food Group. (They're also behind None of the Above, a speakeasy located underneath the food hall—a perfect post-barbecue hangout.) Craft opened Expat in September 2024 and is already making waves with a menu that features American-style barbecue infused with global flavors. Think pork shoulder with Thai basil, lime, and ginger; beef brisket with a Yucatan spice rub; and, of course, St. Louis-style pork ribs. The space spans three floors and can accommodate up to 400 guests with a full buyout. Otherwise, planners can work with semi-private "silo rooms" for more intimate dinners, a mezzanine space for 60-70 guests seated, and (our favorite) the expansive third-floor patio.

6. Puttshack St. Louis

The third and final venue we want to call out at City Foundry STL: Puttshack. This is another great indoor option for when the St. Louis weather doesn't cooperate. The STL location of this national chain opened in late 2022 and features multiple courses of tech-infused mini golf—"it's a whole vibe" is often how they advertise. For prime privacy, groups of up to 200 can rent out the entire second floor, which houses two courses. Planners can also work with different reserved seating configurations on the main floor. A full buyout gets your group unlimited play.
