The long dining table, housed inside a watertight rubber membrane, was anchored by two large custom 12- by 12-foot pergolas overhead complete with theme-appropriate chandeliers. Inside the 20- by 60-foot bog were 900,000 cranberries floating in 21,000 gallons of water.

On November 3, and in the lead up to Thanksgiving, Ocean Spray unveiled a high-impact brand promotion in the form of a seated luncheon in a 30-foot-long bog at Rockefeller Center. Produced by Tyger Productions, the conspicuous affair celebrated both Ocean Spray's 85th anniversary and all things cranberry.

To contrast Thanksgiving meals of yesteryear and today, the production team created tables both traditional and modern, each fully designed and propped with fine china, linens, candelabras, chairs, flowers, candles, and, naturally, autumnal and cranberry decor.

On the traditional concept side of the pre-Thanksgiving luncheon, autumnal decor was set while a host of classic fare was served: mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, cornbread stuffing, jellied cranberry sauce, and fresh thyme-rubbed turkey with white cranberry sauce.

To remain on point and in keeping with the event theme, Ocean Spray team members donned branded waders over their rustic plaid shirts.

Guests and staff had to wade through the cranberry bog to reach the table. When it came time to serve the meal, two sets of waitstaff were utilized: one team already in the bog would receive food at the perimeter of the venue from a secondary support team.

Stacked Ocean Spray crates not only served as a fitting decorative backdrop, but were also utilized as lockers for guests to place their shoes and personal belongings for safekeeping during lunch.

The pergolas were custom designed with bases that Tyger Productions leveled in the bog against the slope of the site. The bog depth ran from nine inches on the shallow end to 17 inches at its deepest part.

Celebrity chef Curtis Stone hosted the sit-down affair and worked Great Performances to execute his menu of foods. During the meal, he introduced each course while providing some personal anecdotes on Thanksgiving dinner at his house. The hashtag #TBThanksgiving was used in the buildup to the event and throughout the luncheon.
