Two staffers dressed in steampunk costumes carrying an oversize (but lightweight) gilded frame wandered the reception room, encouraging guests to pose for photos while framed inside. A stationary green-screen photo booth was also set up in the foyer, along with steampunk accessories such as goggles, hats, and parasols.

Thrillist's Best Day of Your Life

Thrillist's fourth annual Best Day of Your Life party took place June 18 at various bars in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The event featured a wall of printers from Luster, an Instagram-powered printing company, which automatically printed out custom photos of guests if they used the event's hashtag in an Instagram post.

The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington's 34th annual Rammys award show took place June 12 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. OM Media provided an oversize TV frame as the staging for its photo booth at the Heineken activation. Guests could then post the photos directly to social media or email the pictures to themselves.

Flip-flop brand Havaianas took over the NYC Ferry’s route to the city beaches from August 3 to 7. The event, which was designed and produced by the New Stand, served refreshments from a branded tiki-style bar fronted with the company's global campaign logo.

A new “American-Texas” restaurant, BackYard at Waller Creek at Sheraton Austin Hotel, opened in June. Combining regional Texas cuisine with general contemporary American fare, the menu includes dishes such as chorizo and pepper jack grits cake Benedict, pork chops with sweet potato hash, and tacos, along with cocktails and tequila flights. The over 6,000-square-foot outdoor space includes a beer garden and auditorium-style seating, as well as a separate kitchen and full bar in an Airstream. The al fresco area holds 300 seated guests or as many as 500 standing.

The vacation rental site HomeAway, which sponsored a stage at the festival, fashioned an upside-down house as a photo opportunity in which fans pretended to hang from the ceiling. The brand gave away a free backstage pass every day to random fans.

On Friday, Janelle Monae and Belvedere Vodka hosted an intimate brunch at Catch L.A. in support of the singer's Fem the Future organization. A panel including Alicia Quarles, Danai Gurira, Stacy Smith, and Lacey Duke led a discussion about their hopes for the future; other attendees included Lupita Nyong’o (pictured), Rosario Dawson, and Ava Duvernay. A lush wall of greenery served as a step-and-repeat.

The event, which was produced by Endeavor Global Marketing, featured an elevator that was transformed into a floral photo booth. For the after-party, AKJOHNSTON's design drew inspiration from organic motion. To evoke the feeling of an arena, the team anchored each end of the ballroom with custom goal-inspired structures framed in deep blue velvet drape and sleek metallic finishes. Flanking each stage were 12-foot neon radial light sculptures, designed and fabricated in-house, that added height and color and served as stylized 'goal posts.'
