













Nickelodeon and Variety's second annual 10 Animators to Watch event took place May 3 at Quixote Studios in West Hollywood. Designed and produced by Sterling Social, the event featured a minimal white palette contrasted with Nickelodeon's eye-catching green and orange colors, which were showcased on the front of the bar and on drink menus.

LeSportsac hosted a media event for a group of editors for the launch of its new bag collection on April 7 at the Glasshouses in New York. Designed by Tinsel & Twine, the event featured a silver, white, and blue balloon canopy installation that was reflected on a mirrored-top table.

Electric Daisy Carnival New York took place May 14 and 15 at Citi Field in New York. As the official liqueur sponsor of the festival, Jägermeister hosted its first-ever Haus56 activation, a two-story treehouse-like structure for festivalgoers that offered everything from craft cocktails to a "Shot in the Dark" photo booth—which hit guests with a loud, cold blast of carbon dioxide as they entered the room to evoke a surprising photo reaction.

Jägermeister's activation also featured an array of herbs, spices, fruits, and roots on shelves for attendees to smell and use to make bracelets and headbands.

Urban Decay launched its revamped lipstick collection with a party at the Greenpoint Loft in Brooklyn on May 4. Lipstick names were incorporated throughout the event in unexpected ways like license plate wall decor.

This year's Robin Hood Foundation Benefit took place May 9 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. As the benefit's decor always celebrates New York City, fabricated elements included 3-D silhouettes of iconic buildings such as the One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building.

The bars were designed to look like New York City skyscrapers and each served a specialty cocktail and was named for a restaurant by Major Food Group.

The centerpieces resembled building blocks for children, underscoring this year's focus on early childhood development. After the benefit, the blocks were removed from the base and donated to a Robin Hood-funded program.

This year's James Beard Foundation Awards took place at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on May 2. Erik Anderson and Jamie Malone, chefs at Minneapolis restaurant Brut, served Ritz crackers with chicken liver, onions, and prunes soaked in Armagnac. The dish was inspired by Dan Aykroyd impersonating Julia Child in a famous Saturday Night Live sketch.

For National Hummus Day on May 13, Sabra Dipping Company partnered with experiential artist Emilie Baltz for an interactive eating experience at the Design Junction's Dwell on Design at ArtBeam gallery in New York. The event featured a kitchen setup for the food art that featured hanging aprons and Sabra's logo.
