





Cotton candy is a summertime staple for people of all ages. A new twist on the classic treat is cotton candy illuminated by a colorful LED stick. Glo Cone’s flashy catering option costs $500 for a case of 400 glowing cones; the candy is not included. The company can provide their product nationally for events such as festivals, birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and more.

The event, once known as the Good Food & Drink Festival, turns 25 next year and returns to the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place. Highlights from 2016 include the Canadian Cheese Counter, sponsored by Dairy Farmers of Canada, and Food Truck Alley. Next: April 2017


Guests can hop aboard and take a joy ride on one of Chicago's “L” trains, which are available to charter through the Chicago Transit Authority. They can be rented any time, except weekday rush hours, with pricing starting around $2,000 depending on the size and length of the event. Food, non-alcoholic beverages, decorations, battery-operated sound systems, and live music is permitted. Each car holds about 35 people.














EventGeek is a new system to plan events and to track their success at driving sales, site traffic, social mentions, and more. Planners can use EventGeek to track everything related to event marketing in one place: budgets, expenses, itineraries, venues, guests, and sales. It’s integrated with other tools, such as Salesforce, Twitter, and Google Analytics, to make it easier for hosts to understand outcomes. The system also has a schedule feature that allows planners to put together a minute-by-minute agenda that can be printed, shared with a link, or sent to someone else’s calendar.


On July 22, Revolve helped launch Moet & Chandon’s new Ice Imperial Rosé at the Watermill home. Hosted by style star Olivia Palermo, guests enjoyed the rosé while wandering through the Moet Secret Rosé Garden. Decor included a greenery-fronted DJ booth with social media handles and hashtags spelled out in Scrabble-style tiles.

Mongrel Media transformed the historical Campbell House Museum from September 8 to 14 for its inaugural Mongrel House event series. Event sponsor Holt's Renfrew set up a claw machine where attendees could win gift certificates of up to $500 to the retailer.


Luxury shopping neighborhood CityCenterDC hosted a fashion- and holiday-theme ice gallery event on December 10. Produced by BrandLinkDC, the event featured more than 20 sculptures designed by Ice Lab, including an ice dress modeled after Dior.

S’mores got their start as sticky, gooey, handheld campfire treats, but events have reinvented them in many ways friendlier to guests, such as this example of a lollipop version at the Engage!14 Wedding Summit dessert party.

The New York Botanical Garden's annual Orchid Dinner took place at the Mandarin Oriental at Columbus Circle on February 10. In keeping with tradition, the evening featured large-scale orchid installations on its tabletops. One such arrangement, designed by Bowman Dahl Floral & Event Design, combined deep pink orchids with moss, twigs, and small white accent flowers.Â




To coincide with the second-season premiere of its fantasy series The Magicians on Wednesday, SyFy has hosted an immersive fan experience at the William Vale in Brooklyn. Produced by Mash Studio, the event featured numerous interactive rooms inspired by the show. One of the first rooms in the hall that guests could enter is inspired by a magical library, created with three walls of books that had pages shake when guests walk by. The room also included suspended books designed to appear as if they were floating.


For a locally inspired meeting break idea, Le Méridien Chicago Oakbrook Center has a Sweet Home Chicago menu that offers a variety of self-serve candy that originated in the city, including Lemonheads, Milk Duds, Red Hots, Tootsie Rolls, and Dots. Named after the blues song by Robert Johnson, the candy-shop-inspired display—which also offers pretzel bites and lemonade and iced tea—comes with a chalkboard sign that displays information about the Chicago-founded National Confections Association.






For a colorful, floral photo setup idea, PopSugar's Coachella hub at the Colony Palms hotel in Palm Springs featured a flower-covered swing in front of sponsor Ulta's logo. Agenc produced the event.

The Taste of Home Live event series, a new national live cooking tour, kicked off April 18 at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. Produced in partnership with WME-IMG's Fusion Marketing, the events offer interactive stations for guests including a photo booth with kitchen tools as props.



Scandinavian skincare brand Ole Henriksen launched its pop-up tour on April 29 at the Wanderlust Festival in Santa Monica. The interactive pop-ups, designed by Grow Marketing, will travel to other Wanderlust events throughout the summer, offering attendees onsite skin consultations, product trails, and branded Boomerang photo booths with on-theme props.

At this year’s Time Inc. NewFront presentation, which was held on May 4 at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Ray Bloch Productions created a doughnut wall featuring treats with vibrant glazes that represented the brand’s new logo colors. Great Performances supplied the doughnuts.
