United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley's Tocqueville Society event honors the organization's foremost donors each year. Held at Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art, this year's springtime bash "celebrated the art of community, both across our city and within our own Tocqueville Society," said the nonprofit's events director Molly Neville. "Our event theme, 'the Art of Community,' came to life through an interactive picture mosaic that guests helped create."

Working with the Pennsylvania-based company Picture Mosaics, staffers requested a fleur-de-lys shape for the mosaic that mirrored the society's logo; the mosaic also contained the society's signature colors. As guests arrived, they had their photos snapped with a camera that was connected to an LCD screen. The pictures then moved across the screen and were dropped into the the mosaic to build the blue-and-gold fleur-de-lys.
