On October 10, Illuminus took place in Boston for the second year. Part of the  global "Nuit Blanche" movement, the nighttime arts festival saw Landsowne Street and Fenway Park transformed with large-scale projects from 40 artists. An installation called "Walking the Monster" turned the ballpark itself became a giant percussive instrument. Created by artists Maria Finkelmeier and Ryan Edwards, the musical and light performance saw 15 percussionists suspended above the ground, using mallets to beat on the steel girders of the structure. The event drew some 30,000 guests—triple its 10,000-guest attendance in 2014.
